Serenity Hospice

Hospice care focuses on improving quality of life and helping patients live life to the fullest with a life limiting disease.
Mercer County Hospital's Serenity Hospice program is dedicated to helping patients and their families by providing the following types of care:
- Access to quality, compassionate nursing care at home, in hospital setting, or nursing home 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
- Specialized palliative care focusing on quality of life.
- Support and assistance from Social Services.
- Emotional and spiritual support for patients and their loved ones.
- Medication and supplies pertaining to patient's life limiting illness.
Mercer County Hospital has professional and dedicated staff to meet patient's needs:
- Skilled nursing
- Nurses aides
- Social workers
- Trained volunteers
- Pastoral services
The hospice program is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, VA and some private insurance. There are some services provided to patients who are indigent and no one is denied care due to a lack of funds.
